Namaste, Aloha, and As-Salàmu Àlaykum!

There is such beauty in the meaning and use of these words!  Namaste, from Sanskrit, meaning “I humbly bow to you”  Aloha, a Hawaiian word for “Love”, that is used as an interjection to express greeting or farewell.  And As-Salàmu Àlaykum, an Islamic greeting, defined as “May Peace be on you”  How absolutely astonishing, and overwhelming that there exists such miraculous and selfless tidings for another!  And how tragic, that they are not used commonly, or even frequently, by the world over!

There is no more unconquered territories upon this Earth!  There is no grouping of Peoples that have remained undiscovered!  And there are few who could, or would even attempt to argue, that we aren’t all struggling to achieve the same things in this Life, and facing the same basic and/or fundamental issues as every other Human Being upon the face of “our” planet!

How, and/or why is it, that such truly gracious wishes for another can exist, yet we cannot seem to be bothered to even take the time to say “Hello!” let alone offer a greeting or bidding of farewell as precious as “Namaste!” or As-Salàmu Àlaykum or “Aloha!”   Are we really SO busy, that we are incapable of taking the fractional measurement of time necessary to share -if nothing else- the implied respect and/or concern for our fellow citizens of the planet that these words offer?

Are we really so unattached, so disassociated, so emotionless, that we haven’t the ability, or sense of urgency, for sharing such simple “wishes” of kindness, one with another?  Are we really so afraid to connect with each other, on such a simple yet meaningful level, that such things just aren’t possible? I find it hard, if not impossible to believe, these things to be true…  If we can curse and swear at inanimate objects, and profess Love of all things for these same inanimate objects, I find it difficult to accept that such wonderful utterances are beyond our abilities to share with other, LIVING beings, as we come upon one another each day.

If we can make better the Life of another with but a smile, even if only for a moment, consider the change possible by the “casual” usage of such wonderfully connecting and sincere words as NamasteAloha, and As-Salàmu Àlaykum!!!  How glorious the day might become, having received such pleasant and warm greetings/farewells as these!  How beautiful and tranquil our World -and our existence therein- could become with such niceties as common place.

As with, of, and in so much of Life, we bear such great potential…  if only we would realize it…

NamasteAloha, and As-Salàmu Àlaykum to you all!

I am a Writer and Poet, Construction Worker with a Union, would be Organic Farmer, Son, Brother, Cousin, Friend, and a few others. I would like to add a few more; Husband, father, .... the list will grow! I am currently working on personal growth, publishing my first book, becoming a Journeyman in the Carpenters Union, learning more of Gardening and Green things, and embracing Life as it comes! Life and Love are only as easy as we allow them to be, but are ever present, when we are ready to embrace them! Time is a tricky, devious thing, and Life is never easy. Nor should it be, the challenge is how we grow! While ever developing mentally and Spiritually over the last decade, The "obstacles to progress" are morphing into challenges to be met, and are ever changing. Such is the amazing Wonder that is Life, as we Learn, as we Grow! Too much structure is at the very heart of institutionalization, and not enough is the path to chaos. Learning that balance I believe is a Life-long challenge. One of many, as balance(s) is(are) ever changing too! All the while (and, as we ALL are...), I am, have been, and continue to be, so very Blessed!! Divine Providence, the "Finger of God", or even a reference to "Footprints"; all and more apply! The Energy of Life is all around us! Creating, Energizing, Healing, Invigorating! Life feeds the Energy of Life! Call It/Them how/by/what you will... Their presence and influence in and upon my Life has been amazing, and I could not, and would not, be who or where I am (NONE of us would/could be), without Them! Divine Providence, Creators/Masters of the multi-verse, the Spark of Life, the Energy that Nourishes, Higher Power, whatever/however you so choose to acknowledge our own smallness in the Universe! Without Their Love, Their Guidance, we are lost. We are sick, we are incomplete, when we lack the Faith to Heal and be Whole! I am growing, and Healing, and Learning, and am greatly in need thereof. But I AM growing, and Healing, and Learning! And so the Light "at the end of the tunnel" Shines ever bright! And Day by Day, I struggle, to be better than I was the day before, and to be prepared to be even better tomorrow! Hallelujah! Aloha! Namaste! As-Salàmu Àlaykum! Peace!
